Block 1: Recap + Day 5 plan

What to say:

"Today is polish and demo day. First we fix bugs and make projects look finished. Then we rehearse what you'll say. Last hour, parents come in and you show your work."

Block 2: Polish + bug fixes

Goal: every student's project opens, runs, and has a clear demo path.

What to say:

"Run your project from the beginning. If something is broken, fix that first. If it works, polish the part parents will see first."

Watch for and triage:

  1. Project will not open. Use the saved backup, shared link, or exported copy.
  2. One feature is broken. Hide it or skip it in the demo if time is short.
  3. Project is unfinished. Choose the strongest 2-3 parts and rehearse those.
  4. Students keep adding new features. Stop feature work and switch to polish.

Reference: Parent demo prep.

Block 3: Demo rehearsal

Goal: every student can explain their project in 3-5 minutes.

What to say:

"Practice with a partner. Show three favorite parts. For each one, say what it is, how you built it, and what was hard."

Common rehearsal issues:

  • Students freeze. Give them the template from parent demo prep.
  • Students want to show everything. Push them to pick three highlights.
  • Students only say "I don't know." Ask what they changed, tested, or fixed.

Block 4: Snack + regroup

Snacks. Restroom. Calm reset.

Block 5: Parents arrive + welcome

Code Coach welcome script:

"Thanks for coming. This week students built a project from scratch, tested it, fixed bugs, and personalized it. They'll walk you through their favorite parts. The site lives at creatorshub.app if you want to look at the curriculum afterward."

Block 6: Parent demo

Format:

  • Students demo at their own screen.
  • Parents rotate every 5-10 minutes if needed.
  • Code Coach circulates and helps if a student freezes.

Block 7: Class photo + wrap

  • Group photo if permitted.
  • One-sentence shoutout per student.
  • Remind students that they can keep building after camp.

After parents leave

  • Email parents a thank-you with a Creator Hub link.
  • Note improvements for next session.
  • Confirm projects were saved or shared before devices are reset.
